About Us

Monitor Security Systems, Inc. is a family-owned and operated security company that has proudly served its customers for 22 years in and around the greater Los Angeles area. Founded by Harry Hunt, Jr. of San Marino, the company was purchased by Barry Wachter in 1985 as a sister company to his long-established Signal Alarm Company, Incorporated. Father Bernard Wachter -- whose name incidentally means “the watcher” -- founded Signal Alarm Co., Inc. in 1953 and remains today the last of the original “fair and union” alarm companies in Southern California.

Over the past 22 years, owner Barry Wachter has built a reputation in Southern California as a leader and expert in state-of-the-art electronic security and surveillance. In 2006, third-generation Jordan Wachter joined the company as it’s Vice-President of sales and service, bringing with
him a collegiate background in business and criminal science.

Monitor Security clients know and appreciate the personal integrity, honesty and commitment to excellence that the Wachter family has built their business upon, ensuring their longevity in the security industry.

In addition to burglar and fire alarm protection, Monitor Security Systems now offers home theater installations, intercoms, as well as remote viewing closed-circuit surveillance cameras and recorders. Our 24-hour central station is U.L. approved. Every Monitor alarm agent is thoroughly screened, fingerprinted, licensed and insured. Thus, every Monitor Security Systems customer is ensured the highest level of security and protection.
